Miracle

Exciting news! We got an email from our breeder last night after returning from the pub for Mike/Joe/Darlene's birthday. Apparently the puppy we were waiting for last Dec that we didn't get because it was a singleton went to the family who owns the puppy's father. They wanted to show her in part to tout what great breeding genes their stud dog has.

It turns out that the woman has decided not to keep the puppy because she is getting on in age and underestimated how much of her energy a puppy would take. She recently had back surgery and just can't keep up with a baby dog in the house. So the breeder thought of us and asked us if we wanted to get in touch with this woman about adopting Miracle.

We called the breeder this morning to get more details about why the puppy needed to be re-homed and also for info on her vaccination schedule and temperment so far. If all goes well, we could arrange to pick up our new puppy as early as Easter weekend. The show home is near Detroit and we will be in Sarnia at some point on Easter weekend. Mike is really excited because we wanted a girl and also because this little one is beautiful... has great markings.

So exciting! I'm just waiting to hear back from the current owner about how much she is asking for and whether she could meet us on the Canadian side of the border. They named Miracle "Elfie"... so obviously we need to give her a new name. Luckily I think she's young enough to learn a new name. Any suggestions?
