Buying a house is hard work!

There sure are a lot of things you have to do when buying a house!

We have 5 business days from our offer acceptance to get a bunch of things done before we "officially" buy the house. That means we need to get our butts in gear before this Friday.

  • We had to get a bank draft for our deposit to the selling agent upon acceptance of the offer (Monday) - done
  • We had to arrange a home inspection in case we want to back out due to the condition of the house - done, we'll be doing the inspection on Friday
  • We had to choose and obtain a mortage - done, 5.2% is good right?
  • After signing the mortgage documents, we have to provide proof of financing to the sellers - Thursday, hopefully
  • We have to find a lawyer to deal with the transfer of the property and all that other "stuff" lawyers do when you buy or sell a house

That's a lot of stuff to do in 5 days. In the end though it will be worth it. We are super excited about the house and for the first time ever, I am looking forward to moving all our stuff.

These pictures don't give the best idea about the place, but take a look inside anyway:

The kitchen

The loft

The living room

The dining room

The master bedroom with the poo-coloured walls we have to repaint

The guest room sans baby stuff (there's another room for the office)

The backyard

More backyard

Jen,
Your place looks great! You and Mike must be so excited about finally having a place to call your own. There sure is a lot of stuff to do in order to get everything finalized, but trust me, in the end, it is totally worth it!
