We also scheduled an appointment with a locksmith to have our front door re-keyed. Apparently this is less expensive than changing the locks entirely. We figured that since we are stuck at the house for 4 hours with the duct cleaners, we might as well have the locksmith come over as well.
Sadly, there is nothing in our house yet except for some houseplants, random shoes in boxes, and some cheap post-Halloween snacks. I am planning to bring my laptop home so that we can watch a few more episodes of Grey's Anatomy that Nicole's friend Paola burned for us. Now that's what I call a par-tay. We may attempt to clean the house while we are stuck there, but something tells me that the attempt will be short-lived and we'll probably fit in a good 4 episodes of Grey's. Yay!

and you're right, much cheaper than buying new locks.
also, too late for this advice, but you can do it yourself (next time if necessary). You just take apart the locks and pull out the cylinders. You have to take the cylinders to Rona or someplace similar for a professional locksmith to do the actual changing of the cylinder. But once that's done, you can simply slide the 'new' cylinder back into the lock and you're good.
It's also a good way to get multiple doors on the same key.
Thanks for the advice James. When we put in the door from the house to the garage, I'll have to remember to mention that. It would definitely be good to have both doors on the same key.
